protecting them from us

a first. hopefully this is a bellwether. it seems small, in the scope of things, but something is better than nothing. also, regarding humankind's record of how it treats non-human animals, this is pretty significant - rights. i would like for this to serve as a catalyst for new ways of thinking about so many other lives with whom we share this planet.

of course, i would prefer a revolution of liberation, freeing all forms of life from their cages, stalls and the threat of knife. i do not see that happening anytime soon. i think we are gonna have to wait till collapse for that one to take place, if only because people will not be able to sustain the rigorous demands of industry and technology to keep these current methods of enslavement in operation.
