Stupid bands (Jesuit) have stupid cover art (their discography)

Wow, so edgy. Women are evil and it's cool when they're dead. So original too. Let's go stab skinny bitches with big tits in the heart with knives and strip them except for high heels and some kind of lacy thing and wrap them in barbed wire and wait until they rot. It will be cool.

Here's their self-important description from Deathwish Magic Bullet:

JESUIT were an unrelenting, noisy hardcore band from Virginia Beach, VA. They existed from the mid-90′s up until the changing of the century. In their wake, they left a rather nice-sized dent in the intensely-PC witch-hunt/”safe space” era of DIY hardcore. Whereas events attributed to Charles Manson are often credited with bringing a savage and brutal end to the peace, love, and drug culture of the 60′s, events surrounding bands like JESUIT and GEHENNA not only elicited controversy at every tour stop, but pushed a movement toward hardcore finding its more violent, unpredictable, and entirely irreverent roots as the “Portlandia” cult of 90′s hardcore crashed to a halt.
Taking the old "controversy" route in an attempt to substitute for lack of substance. Style over substance, except I don't think Jesuit had that either. Zzzzzz....I like the part where they swipe at safe spaces (it's easy for men to not have to ever consider such a concept - what are those bitches crying about?) and refer to people trying to make their scene a better place, eradicating hateful manly shit as a "PC witch-hunt." Did Rush Limbaugh write this? Thanks to people like the men of Jesuit and their mentalities, hardcore is about as dumb as it ever was. Jacob Bannon, you should be ashamed.

In reality, this band was bad. I don't know anyone who ever liked them. They recently played a pointless reunion show and no one gave a FUCK that they were playing. For the whole time. People left when they played, I'm assuming cause the band was just that breathtakingly original. People went off for the band before them and the bands after them, but the room stood still when the mighty Jesuit played. I guess they were just awestruck.

I'm not one to talk about what hardcore is "really about." However, at the very least, hardcore has historically been a rejection of "them" and "out there." It's a counterculture, or was. Shit like this is just aping the mainstream to the fullest. It's just one more round in the never-ending hail of bullets coming at women the world over. It's not that I hold out any hope, in the least, for hardcore or punk to become some revolutionary, redemptive or even benevolent force (more to come on that in a later post), but I do want to take the time to point out how fucking shitty this record cover and the concomitant (lack of) thought process are. This is worse than a Motley Crue record. At least those guys liked women (as well as looked like them). This is the kind of thing one should expect from Avenged Sevenfold or  Buck Cherry. This has everything to do with the mainstream. This challenges nothing. Women are put down at every turn. Women are sexualized constantly. They are told they are not good enough. Let me help you with that. Their efforts are "cute." Their bodies are routinely violated with impunity. I'll kill you if you fight back. Daily media blitzkrieg sensory overload says you are fat. Don't try, because you will likely fail. Give it up. Just take it. Know your place. Slut. If that's what you're into, stay in the fucking bar where you and your numbingly mediocre band belong. Offending people is not hard. In this case, it was a replacement for having anything worthwhile or creative to say.

I guess this record cover is their last hurrah, their final go at those PC Police. WE'LL SHOW THEM. YOU CAN'T SILENCE JESUIT. Sorry I'm such a faggot guys. I bet you'd never call me a nigger though. Cause that's just not cool, right?

Aside from the thoroughly anti-woman, misogynistic theme and aesthetic, the "art" just sucks. It's fucking stupid. Super trashy. Who likes this shit? It's about as cool as this:

Edit: Oops on the Jacob Bannon tip. I saw this listed in the Deathwish store and assumed it was from them. Made sense, with Nate Newton and all. However, as a commenter pointed out, it's on Magic Bullet. In that case, Brent Eyestone should be ashamed.

Non-surgical abortion, live on the internet

Hats off to you, Angie Jackson. Here we see a strong woman explaining, with absolutely no apologies, that she is having an abortion. You see, since she took RU-486, she is actually having the abortion while she speaks. It's a French pill that induces abortion and finally made it over here some years back. She got it at Planned Parenthood, that redoubt of women's rights, and has been posting her experiences with it on the internet. All over the internet, actually. The description of her video says she has a blog and twitter account (Twitter hashtag #livetweetingabortion or follow me @antitheistangie) documenting it.

Here is a Daily News article all about what she's doing, replete with a "response" (as though they have a fucking thing to do with it) from the Family Research Council, which is just some bullshit cloak name for a bunch of misogynistic, fourteenth century fucks.

Hell yes Angie. Good for you. I do not know anything else about this woman, and to be honest, I really don't feel like watching the rest of her youtube videos, reading her blog or having a fucking thing to do with twitter. This, though, is fucking awesome, that she is showing the world what having a non-surgical abortion is like. I guess no one has done this before? I'm not sure why. People will put literally anything on the internet. I guess they tend to be a bit more hesitant to do things that are of import. Also, I understand that a lot of women, for a variety of reasons, don't really want to be waving this flag all over the place. Well, someone has, so they don't have to. It's so, so important to combat this fear-fanning crap that the would-be controllers of women put out there.

Of course, she is being bombarded by those same religious (Christian) woman-hating zealots telling her what a piece of shit she is, calling her a baby killer, a whore and whatever else, and even threatening her life. All because she made a decision about her body, that ultimately affects no one else besides her and to a lesser extent, her boyfriend or whomever the potential father is. What a wonderful world.

The shit that people say and do to intimidate women out of having abortions makes me want to go on a face-punching spree.

Operation Rescue - "I had to borrow money just to send you this letter..."

I hope it's true. Troy Newman, the group's president, claims Operation Rescue is fucking broke:

"We're now so broke (as the saying goes), we can't even pay attention," Newman wrote.

Newman told The Associated Press in an interview after the mailing that the group has only four paid employees left, compared to nine a year ago. The group typically has an annual budget of $600,000, but donations this year have been down 30 percent to 40 percent. Newman, who earns $60,000 annually, said he hasn't been paid in two months.

"You see, this summer has been brutal for Operation Rescue," Newman wrote. "Not only did George Tiller's death throw everybody in the pro-life movement for a loop (and especially us), but the economic crisis our nation is suffering has brought our financial support to nearly a halt."
I'm sure, that in addition to the economic recession, Troy Newman sees a moral one, demonstrated by his group's financial difficulties.

Whether the organization is penniless or not, I'm not sure how much real difference it makes. I'm not very up on the coat hanger or nothing scene, so I don't know how many serious anti-choice groups are out there these days. I know Operation Rescue was THE one for a while, and I figured they still were. Randall Terry is still doing some bullshit, I'm sure.

Whatever the case, it makes me feel good to see people like this crawl. Fuck every one of them. Fuck every person who has ever donated to them.

I have these visions where Troy Newman, Randall Terry, Cheryl Sullenger (Operation Rescue "Senior Policy Advisor" and would-be clinic bomber) and whatever other malicious parasites live atop the heap of woman-hating zeal become so poor and crazy from their tunnel-vision lifestyles that they are homeless. Their homelessness is of the variety where they are street people; they have to live off of the fat of society. One night, drunkenly dumpster diving (they have long since strayed from the flock), they find some decent scraps of meat, still warm. You gotta take what you can get when you are in this position. As they walk off, joyously feasting upon their finds, they realize they've been eating fetuses.

I would like to credit Bad Religion with Operation Rescue's organizational destitution.

Lol @ anti-choice guy getting gunned down

This happened a few weeks ago; I meant to write on it, but it's been slipping my mind. All this stuff with Attack Attack! has been taking up a lot of time.

Anyway, finally. Someone took out one of those self-appointed warriors for Christ. Fuck this guy. I'm glad he's dead. This piece of shit, a member of Operation Rescue, had spent years sitting outside a high school, a car dealership (?), Planned Parenthood offices, abortion clinics and who knows where else, holding up the usual signs of "the murdered unborn" or whatever they want to call fetuses, endeavoring to put his hands on women's bodies, to force them into having children they don't want, denying them the rights to control their lives.

See that guy up top? That's Harlan Drake. He did it. He shot Captain Christ, aka Jim Pouillon.

He wasn't killed in a personal dispute, he wasn't killed by accident. He was shot and killed deliberately because of the nature of his activities and his refusal to relent. A long time ago, he decided to dedicate his life to hating and controlling women.

The county's chief assistant prosecutor, Sara Edwards, said there didn't appear to be a "triggering event" but Pouillon's presence outside the school seemed to aggravate Drake. It was "the fact that he was outside the high school with his signs in front of children going to school," she said.

Yup.

Operation Rescue president Troy Newman said Pouillon was a member of the anti-abortion group, adding that he wept Friday when he received word that his friend had been killed. "He was just a kind, gentle man who loved life and endeavored to save other people's lives," Newman said.

Boo hoo hoo. What a tragic loss. Such a wonderful Christ warrior. He sure loved to control women's bodies. Troy Newman, what a judge of character.

Again, fuck this guy. He wasn't just someone who didn't like abortion. Operation Rescue, these are the people who kill doctors, these are the people who foster the sentiments that convince people to kill doctors, these are the people who love the dirty work that the doctor killers do for them. They thrive on the orgasmic power of intimidation.

Mr. Pouillon was at the real hardcore of this crap. A real die hard. And he died hard.

The Rev. Rodger DeVore, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, said Pouillon never seemed to tire and even protested outside the church.

"He did not attend a church because he felt pastors were not strong enough in their defense of the aborted child," DeVore said. "I told him, 'Jim, everyone has to fight in their own armor. You have your approach and we have our approach.' We agreed to disagree."

Jim Pouillon won't be intimidating anyone ever again. May there be a bullet for everyone like him.

An eye for an eye

will hopefully leave at least one man blind. As CNN reports, Ameneh Bahrami, an Iranian woman was blinded when a relentless stalker, Majid Movahedi, threw acid on her face about four years ago. In a measure of respect for women that surprises me, he has been imprisoned since then, awaiting further punishment. As far as I know, these attacks, which are not uncommon throughout the Muslim world, often go unpunished.

Ms. Bahrami has insisted that her attacker receive the same sentence he gave her - blindness. Supposedly, he will be blinded within a few weeks, his appeal having been recently rejected.

Good.

I do not support capital punishment, but this is different. Men carry this out with impunity. They believe, generally correctly, that they can do whatever they like to women. Here is an example of that in Pakistan. "Because women usually don’t matter in this part of the world, their attackers are rarely prosecuted and acid sales are usually not controlled."

This is a very specific behavior that could be severely curtailed if men thought that they would face the same punishment in return. It needs to stop. By any means necessary.

Fuck every liberal "human rights advocate" who looks at this and makes some blanket declaration about violence being "bad" or "immoral." Fuck every one of them who says that these women are wrong. Fuck their senses of superiority that tell these women what they should do. Fuck their arrogance, fuck their condescending attitudes. Sometimes, violence does work.
